Need service hours? Looking for something fun to do this summer? Volunteer here! Please fill out the Volunteen form and return it to the Youth Services desk. Volunteen hours for the summer will start on Monday, June 10, with each Volunteen expected to volunteer 2-4 hours a week. There will be special events throughout the summer where Volunteens can work additional hours.
Our Library has received a Year 7 Project Next Generation grant! Funding for this grant was awarded by the Illinois State Library, a Department of the Office of Secretary of State, using funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).
Children ages 10 and up are invited to work with mentors to conduct interviews with library staff and construction staff to deliver information to the community about the library's renovation by capturing videos and pictures that will be shared though our library's social media accounts and photo collages that will be displayed in the building. Please email the Youth Services team at email@example.com if you are interested in joining the club.
Children ages 10 and up are invited to inspire others to read by distributing free books to youth, tweens, and teens in the community! With the remodel, some of our book collections may be limited for checkout at times. Help pick out books on the topics of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics that will be given our for free to help the community. Please email the Youth Services team at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign-up and for more information.
If you would like to be a mentor to our youth, please ask for more information at the Youth Services desk. Our previous grants have earned exemplary status, meaning that our library is serving as a model for other libraries in the state of Illinois.
